SERRA on the Roof: Perfect NYE Spot @ Eataly Flat Iron NYC

My friends Neelab, Rebecca and I were fortunate enough to visit the Serra on the Rooftop located in Eataly Flatiron in NYC. We rode the elevator up to the 14th floor walked up some stairs and bam! We entered a winter wonderland! The roof is full of light airy decorations that are perfect for embracing the NYC winter.

The hosts were very patient and accommodating as we sat at our table. It was 11:00 in the morning so we had no idea what we’d like for drinks. They surprised us with the Stella Alpina, a cider (my favorite) and an old fashioned catered for winter. The cider was hot and was the perfect cocktail for those of us who are always cold!

My favorite drink there! The Cider

For appetizers, we had a light airy apple salad that was a delightful refreshment to prepare our palettes for the entrées. In addition, we devoured rich meatballs, vegetables with bread, ham and cheese.

I ordered the Gnocci di Patate con Gorgonzola because I am a gnocci addict! The gnocci was dipped in a white creamy sauce and topped off with sprinkled walnuts combining the soft with the crunchy. I had never tried gnocci in that way before and absolutely enjoyed it! This is definitely something I will need to try at home!

My friends ordered the Maiale Alla Birra (pork shoulder with a mustard vinaigarette) and the rotini. Each rich dishes with just the perfect portion to keep our bellies satisfied.
